GRAPES: 83% Syrah, 12% Grenache, 5% Mourvedre
TASTING NOTES: Really well-crafted. Elegant, dark red fruit and a touch of violet. Great structure & finish. Amethyst color. Nose is complex with blackcurrants, violet, blackberries, turning to cacao and spices. A full bodied wine with silky, dry-yet-fruity qualities and a tangy, dark berry tart, apple sauce, cedar, and mineral nuanced finish. Chewy tannins. Pairs well with beef, lamb, or game meats, as well as strong cheeses.
PRODUCTION NOTES: The wine is aged for nine months in French oak barrels (Seguin Moreau, François Frères) and American (Seguin Moreau). 30% new oak barrels, 35% one-year-old oak barrels, 35% two-year-old oak barrel.
